This class covers both turf and ornamentals. Take Day 1 only to learn IPM philosophy, monitoring, and implementation strategies – or take the full three days for a comprehensive study featuring degree day models, improving soil health, insect and disease ID, creative ways of removing unwanted pests, and more! This is a core class in three certificate programs.

The full three-day range of topics will include:

  • Pesticide Toxicity and Environmental Contamination
  • Landscape IPM Philosophy
  • Turf IPM Fundamentals
  • Landscape IPM Monitoring
  • Tree/Shrub Insect Mite Pests (ID/Life Cycles)
  • Key Turf Diseases and IPM Cultural Management
  • Abiotic, Environmental, and Cultural Plant Disorders
  • BioControl: Recognizing/Using Beneficial Insects
  • Plant Disease Diagnostic Process
  • Pesticides Appropriate for an IPM Program
  • Biologically Healthy Soils
  • Pest Resistant Ornamental Plants

The January 21-23, 2020 offering of this course was approved for the following credits. We will reapply for similar credits the next time the course runs, but we cannot guarantee credit approval for future offerings.

NOTE: Individuals who wish to receive pesticide recertification credits at any of our courses will need to know their applicator license number and arrive at class on time. Please bring your pesticide license with you to class. If you are late to class, you will not receive credits.

Pesticide Credits

Day 1 Only: 2 units in CORE and 3B; 5 units in 1A and 3A
All 3 Days: 4 units in CORE and 3B; 17 units in 1A and 3A

Day 1 Only: 2 credits in 00-Core; 3 credits in 7; 6 credits in 6 and PC; 9 credits in 18 and 23
All 3 Days: 2 credits in 00-Core; 5 credits in 7; 18 credits in 6 and PC; 23 credits in 18 and 23

All 3 Days: 8 credits in 3A and 3C

Day 1 Only: 6.5 Contact Hours in 29, 36, 37, L (Core), and Dealer
All 3 Days: 17.5 Contact Hours in 29, 36, 37, L (Core), and Dealer

Day 1 Only: 1.25 credits in CORE; 3 credits in 3B and 25; 4.50 credits in 3A
All 3 Days: 3.75 credits in CORE; 9 credits in 3B and 25; 13.5 credits in 3A

DE: This course will be submitted for approved pesticide credits upon completion of the program if requested by attendees.
