8:30am - 4:00pm (Check-in time: 8:00am)

Next offering tentatively planned for June 2016. Registration will open when course dates are confirmed.

Description

Approximately 18,000 business entities in New Jersey have filed notifications of hazardous waste activities, 500 as Large Quantity Generators (LQG), 15,000 as Small Quantity Generators (SQG), and 2,000 as Conditionally Exempt Generators (CESQG) – do you know where you stand?

This two day workshop has been designed to give you practical, hands-on guidance on good hazardous waste management practices and compliance.

Specific topics will include:

  • Confirming and documenting your generator status (LQG/SQG/CESQG)
  • Inventory and accumulation practices (including guidance on satellite accumulation)
  • Universal Wastes (UV), oil wastes, aerosols and their distinctions as hazardous wastes
  • Recordkeeping, manifesting and recommendations on annual revisions and filings
  • Transportation, waste placarding, hauler-generator responsibilities and on site transport requirements
  • Training - including "acceptable" practices for waste handling, annual review procedures and emergency procedures
  • Preparedness and prevention (including requisite response subcontractor agreements)
  • Reporting - including biennial reporting/exception reporting
  • Contingency planning, spill reporting and proper response to releases

Interactive exercises and discussions will reinforce the material presented.
