Description

The Office of Continuing Professional Education has joined with the HACH Company to offer this “hands-on” introduction to the analytical methods and techniques required for accurate laboratory measurement of such wastewater parameters as pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), biological oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD).  Techniques covered in the course include calibration (where applicable), sample measurement, and method verification.  The agenda will combine theory with practical applications of analytical techniques and through hands-on experience with each testing parameter.  Specific topics will include:

            The calibration of pH electrodes

            Common DO measurements

Calibration and maintenance of DO electrodes

Introduction to BOD and COD—their differences and analytical methods.
