Next offering TBD.

Description

Participants will be instructed on the acceptable practices of testing backflow prevention assemblies and will also learn the principles of cross-connection control and the methods, devices, and assemblies used to protect potable water systems. The training and knowledge provided in this class will prepare the student for the ASSE Series 5000 written and practical examinations. This comprehensive training is designed to provide the skills necessary to test backflow assemblies using ASSE's 5-valve test kit procedures.

On the final day of training, the ASSE 5110 tester certification examination will be administered by an ASSE proctor. The initial tester certification exam consists of 100 written questions and demonstrated "hands-on" competency in the field test procedures for:

  • Reduced pressure principle assemblies;
  • Double check valve assemblies;
  • Pressure vacuum breaker assemblies; and
  • Spill resistant vacuum breaker assemblies.

Note: There is a three (3) hour time limit for the written test and a one (1) hour time limit for the hands-on portion.
