Description

Optimum filter performance is a requirement of optimum operation. This one-day workshop for engineers and operators presents a broad overview of all aspects of granular media and gravity filtration.

Topics will include:

  • Design and rehabilitation of new and existing granular media and gravity filters
  • Media selection and design for particle removal
  • Different types of filter operation, instrumentation and control
  • Maintenance/troubleshooting procedures
Credits

The September 14, 2017 offering of this course was approved for the following credits. We will reapply for similar credits the next time the course runs, but we cannot guarantee credit approval for future offerings.

In addition to 0.6 Rutgers CEUs, this water treatment filters course is approved for the following credits:

NJ Licensed Water and Wastewater Operators: 6 TCHs (Approval #01-070703-30)

PA Water Operators: 6 Recert Hours

NJ Certified Public Works Managers: 5 Technical, 1 Management

NJ Licensed Professional Engineers: 6 Continuing Professional Competency Credits

NY Professional Engineers: 6 PDHs (NOTE: This class may not be used to fulfill the land surveyors continuing education requirement in NYS.)

NJ Health Officers and Registered Environmental Health Specialists: Rutgers University, NJAES, Office of Continuing Professional Education has been approved by the New Jersey Department of Health as a provider of NJ Public Health Continuing Education Contact Hours (CEs). CEs for Operation & Maintenance of Water Treatment Filters are still pending.
