Description

Succession planning is an essential part of the business planning process that ensures that individuals are continually developed to step into key roles in a company. Operations at drinking water and wastewater utilities across the country – and in New Jersey especially – are continually hampered by a lack of qualified candidates to replace those who are retiring. This is a critical situation that can put the future continuity and performance of the utility at risk.

This one-day course will introduce you to succession planning: what it entails, what the development component means for you and any staff who report to you, and what to do when succession planning identifies gaps in a company’s available talent.

As a manager, supervisor or individual contributor who aspires to advance in the field of water, wastewater, or a related industry, you should recognize the value of succession planning and know how it works. Through small group discussions and entertaining interactive exercises, this course will help you do that. In addition, you will acquire tools for taking control of your professional development, developing others and creating a strategy for making sure future operation needs are met and secure!
