Description

Effective writing and strong communication skills are essential in the workplace, no matter what your occupation. This online course will introduce you to the elements needed to develop or refresh this skill and provide some great tips on how to communicate with style.

Sharon Kinsey, Writing Skills course instructorSharon Kinsey

Sharon Kinsey has more than 25 years of professional work experience and is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of 4-H Youth Development at Rutgers University, where she leads a local 4-H youth development program in Camden County. She began her career as an agricultural journalist, putting to work her bachelor's degree in journalism. She also hold a master's degree in strategic communication and leadership, and she is working to complete her doctorate in global studies in education. She has taught this course for OCPE since 2005.

Accessing this Online Course

This online course will be delivered via Rutgers' Canvas learning management system. The equipment you will need is a computer (desktop or labtop). A microphone is not required, since you have option to call in to hear the live class. Kindly note that this training is best viewed using the Chrome web browser. You will be prompted to upload a picture of yourself holding your government-issued photo ID before you begin the course. The photo must be clear enough that we can read the name and verify that the person pictured on the ID is in fact the person holding it.
