Course Overview
This class is part of the NJDEP Qualified Environmental Air Compliance Auditor Program.
This program is designed to give background on the Pollution Prevention (P2) Act (N.J.S.A. 13:1D-35 et. seq.) and its regulations (N.J.A.C. 7:1K et. seq.). Attendees will be provided with a guide through the 12 steps of Pollution Prevention Planning including: identifying sources, cost analysis, setting goals, summarizing the plan, and tracking progress. The course will also show a step-by-step walkthrough of P2 Plan Summary and Release and Pollution Prevention Report (RPPR) part A and B filing. The more straightforward alternative (the P2-115 form) to completing sections C and D of the P2 Progress Report will also be covered. Facilities that are required to report at least one Form R to the Federal TRI program are also covered by the P2 Planning requirements. Even if a facility reports on only one TRI chemical on a Form R, a Plan must be prepared for all TRI chemicals used in quantities over the NJ threshold.
Any “employer” (N.J.A.C. 7:1G-1.2) or any “priority industrial facility” (N.J.A.C. 7:1K-1.5) that is subject to the reporting requirements of the federal Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act of 1986 (EPCRA), Section 313, the Toxic Chemical Release Inventory (TRI), is subject to the preparation of a Pollution Prevention Plan and submission of a Release and Pollution Prevention Report (RPPR) and a Pollution Prevention Plan Summary.

This online course will be delivered via Zoom.
Equipment you will need to access this training:
- A computer, tablet, or smartphone
- Microphone is not necessary (all students will be muted on entry; you can use the “chat function” to type your questions and interact with the instructor)
- Webcam is optional but not necessary
- Speaker is optional but not necessary (you will be able to listen to the presentation by dialing in on your phone if your computer does not have a speaker)

Photo ID Requirement
Each registrant will be asked provide a photo of him/herself holding their government-issued photo ID. This is required by credit boards so that you may receive credits for participating in this online course.
- You will receive a reminder email prior to the start of the class with further instructions. Wait to receive these instructions before you attempt to upload your ID.
- The photo must be clear enough that we can read your name and verify that the person pictured on the ID is in fact the person holding it.
- After an OCPE staff member reviews the picture and verifies your identity, you will have access to participate in the course when it begins.
