This one-day course will provide you with the background materials necessary to prepare and maintain a complete Pollution Prevention (P2) Plan in accordance with the Pollution Prevention Act (N.J.S.A. 13:1D-35 et. seq.) and Rules (N.J.A.C. 7:1K et. seq.). The course will also cover the reporting associated with the planning, in particular the Pollution Prevention Plan Summary (DEP-113), the Release and Pollution Prevention Report (RPPR or DEQ-114), and will touch upon the federal Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reporting requirements. In addition, the Northeast Waste Management Officials Association (NEWMOA) will provide an overview of their Energy & Materials Flow & Cost Tracker (EMFACT) software.
Most facilities in their second consecutive year of RPPR reporting (and facilities that previously had a 2003 base year) are required to prepare a new P2 Plan, and submit a new P2 Plan Summary for base year 2008, by July 1, 2009. Most facilities are required to submit RPPRs and P2 Progress Reports as contained within the RPPR and update their P2 Plan accordingly to meet their planning requirements.
