Description

If you are an LSRP and desire practical solutions to common technical issues facing environmental professionals under SRRA/ARRCs, this course is for you! This newly developed three-day program provides practical guidance on integrating source area controls with monitored natural attenuation (MNA) of impacted groundwater and relevant NJDEP Guidance.

This three-day workshop will provide practical hands-on guidance on:

  • Source Area Treatment Technologies and the LSRP Program
  • Practical Considerations for the LSRP Applying Containment and Exposure Control Technologies
  • Containment and Exposure Control Technologies Long Term Operation, Maintenance and Monitoring
  • Applicability of Monitored Natural Attenuation (MNA) to Sites After Addressing Source Term
  • Groundwater Remedies that Compliment Source Term Removal and Treatment Technologies (Case Histories) and Remedial Action Permits
  • Practical Guidance and Example Problems related to SESOIL, Impact To Groundwater Standards, Compliance Averaging, Soil Water Partition, and SLP Guidance
  • An Open LSRP Forum Discussing Topics Such As "Lines of Evidence," "Professional Judgment," and "Remedy Protectiveness" Issues relating to the Biennial Certifications

Credits & Continuing Education Units

The October 2014 offering of this course has been approved for the following credits. We will reapply for similar credits the next time the course runs, but we cannot guarantee credit approval for future offerings.

Rutgers Continuing Education Units: 0.65 CEUs per day/1.95 total for all 3 days
One continuing education unit (CEU) is defined as ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience. If a professional organization of which you are a member grants continuing education units, please consult the organization to determine the number of CEU's awarded.

NJ Health Officers & Registered Environmental Health Specialists: Rutgers University, NJAES, Office of Continuing Professional Education has been approved by the New Jersey Department of Health as a provider of NJ Public Health Continuing Education Contact Hours (CEs). Participants who complete this education program will be awarded 18.0 NJ Public Health Continuing Education Contact Hours (CEs). (6 per day)

NJ Certified Public Works Managers: 4 Technical; 4 Government; 4 Management

NJ Continuing Legal Education: 23.40 CLEs (7.8 per day)
