"Data Quality Assessment for Investigation & Remediation"

Analytical data is the primary information utilized to determine the extent of environmental investigation and remediation. In order to effectively interpret analytical data, it is imperative to understand the quality and usability of the data. Systematic processes are used to document the results of planning, to implement environmental operations, and to assess project data. This course has been designed to assist the investigator in the development of documentation as outlined in the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Technical Guidance Documents related to data quality. This course is an interactive course combining lectures that introduce the topics and exercises that promote use of the key concepts.

Topics Covered

  • Development of Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP)
  • Analytical Methods and Data Quality Objectives (DQO)
  • Interpretation of laboratory quality control and Data of Known Quality (DKQ)
  • Interpretation of field quality control measurements
  • Effective communication between laboratory and investigator

Who Should Attend?
