Description

The objective of this course is to provide LSRPs with an overview of wetlands and wetlands management in the State of New Jersey. The course will touch on the regulatory basis for the protection of wetlands in the State. The course will provide an overview of the methods used to delineate the boundaries of wetlands, as well as a summary of the various methods used to perform functional assessments. Special focus will be given to the strategies and approaches to developing GP-4 permit applications. Additionally, there will be detailed discussions on the planning and execution of wetlands mitigation projects.

Meet the Instructor

Charles Harman, NJ Wetlands Management for LSRPs course instructorCharles R. Harman, P.W.S.

A Principal Ecologist and Regulatory Services Branch Manager at Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc, Charles Harman has 30 years of experience in wetlands management, including delineation, evaluation, permitting, and mitigation. He has applied for a variety of natural resource management permits at both the state and federal levels and we are lucky to have him teach from his experiences.

Accessing this Online Course

This course will be delivered via Webex. Registration will close on September 22, 2020. On September 22nd, registrants will receive an email with a link to access the course. They will also receive a document with tips on how to use Webex. On September 23rd, please log in to Webex 15 - 30 minutes before start time (8:30-8:45 am EDT) for a brief overview of the online format. The course will start promptly at 9:00 am EDT.

Equipment needed to access this training:

  • A computer, tablet, or smartphone
  • Microphone is not necessary (all students will be muted on entry; you can use the "chat function" to type your questions and interact with the instructor)
  • Webcam is optional but not necessary
  • Speaker is optional but not necessary (you will be able to listen to the presentation by dialing in on your phone if your computer does not have a speaker)
