This new, 1-day, New Jersey specific course benefits plant and corporate environmental professionals with compliance, auditing, and air permitting responsibilities. Essential topics such as permit applicability assessments, key regulatory definitions, types of modifications, exemptions, and emissions netting/emissions change calculations and thresholds will be covered. It also addresses the concepts of best available control technology (BACT)/lowest achievable emission rate (LAER) assessments, Subchapter 18 permitting in New Jersey, and nonattainment offsets. Attendees will evaluate real-world case studies and work in groups to maximize understanding of this challenging material.

This course will enable participants to:

  • Evaluate permit and exemption applicability for plant changes;
  • Communicate regulatory triggers and key emissions thresholds to operations and executive management; and
  • Manage the process of developing permit applications and obtaining construction authorizations quickly and efficiently.
