Date & Time

In accordance with Rutgers University's social distancing policy related to COVID-19, this class is now being held online.

March 30, 2021
9:00am - 12:30pm EDT (Log-in time: 8:45am EDT)

Environmental professionals are at times engaged to serve as litigation experts. More frequently, they find themselves involved in cases when their work sites become the subjects of lawsuits and they are brought in as fact witnesses. This revised, half-day online class provides guidance to LSRPs and environmental consultants on best practices of expert and fact witnesses, and it explores the consultant's role in other dispute resolution processes.

As environmental issues have become increasingly complex, the role of LSRPs and other technically trained professionals in litigation continues to grow, and their advice and testimony is often decisive.

  • Professional integrity within the courtroom
  • Recordkeeping for depositions and testimony
  • Value and strength of independent professional judgment
