Course Description

Learn the methods of the experts! This four-day course will introduce you to delineating wetlands using the methods in the 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual and the Federal Interagency Manual. Two highly-respected wetland experts will show you how to perform delineations according to the routine and intermediate methods outlined in these manuals while integrating trade secrets and state laws. If a site has been disturbed or the vegetation is not clear, you must use the soil layers to determine the wetland line. You will also cover the practical skills, regulatory criteria and field techniques needed to determine if a soil meets specific hydric soil indicators. Working in teams for the field exercises, you immediately apply what you learned in the classroom. All of our wetland courses require field work, so please dress accordingly.

NOTE: Methodology for Delineating Wetlands and Hydric Soils have been combined into one course. If you previously attended one of these programs, and are looking to attend the remaining program only, please contact our registration department directly.
