You cannot delineate a wetland without experience identifying wetland plants. This one-day course provides an introduction to diagnostic plant characteristics and their use in dichotomous keys for wetland plant identification. You will use keys in the Field Guide to Nontidal Wetland Identification to identify common wetland plants in central New Jersey. This field guide includes over 250 wetland plants – the most common aquatic bed plants, emergents, shrubs, trees, and vines in Mid-Atlantics wetlands. This course focuses on wetland plants and will not address upland plants.
NOTE: If you are planning to enroll in Methodology of Delineating Wetlands and have not completed the Vegetation Identification for Delineating Wetlands course, you must enroll in this course.
If you have already completed the Vegetation Identification course, this is an excellent refresher and offers another prospective on plant identification.
