Description

Join the NJDEP Radon Section for this special event that will bring together radon professionals and others with an interest in protecting people from the dangers of radon gas!

Highlights of this special program include:

  • A panel discussion that will facilitate all radon partners to develop a strategy for New Jersey to increase radon testing and mitigation.
  • Real estate professionals, individuals working with weatherization and HUD requirements, public health professionals, and cancer coalition members will have an opportunity to learn more about radon and how they can promote radon awareness.
  • Radon professionals will receive NJ and ASHI continuing education credits while learning about multifamily radon testing or mitigation and the ASHI/AARST standards.

Attendees can attend one of three tracks: Radon Technicians, Radon Specialists, or Professionals (Non-Radon Certified). More information about each track is below. Please be sure to indicate which track and breakout sessions you will be attending when you register.

Program Tracks

Radon Technicians

Radon Technicians will attend this event in the morning only, from 8:00am - 12:15pm. Check-in begins at 7:30am.

Technicians will choose one of the following breakouts for the morning session:

  • Radon Testing in Multifamily Buildings: An introduction to the ASHI/AARST standards for Radon Testing.

    OR
  • Radon Mitigation in Multifamily Buildings: An introduction to the ASHI/AARST standards for Radon Mitigation.

The registration fee for Radon Technicians is $25.00. This includes continental breakfast, 4 NJ CEUs, and 4 ASHI CEUs.


Radon Specialists

Radon Specialists will attend this event all day, from 8:00am - 4:00pm. Check-in begins at 7:30am.

Specialists will choose one of the following breakout sessions for the morning session:

  • Radon Testing in Multifamily Buildings: An introduction to the ASHI/AARST standards for Radon Testing.

    OR
  • Radon Mitigation in Multifamily Buildings: An introduction to the ASHI/AARST standards for Radon Mitigation.

After lunch, they will attend an Afternoon Panel, which will provide them with the opportunity to participate in a discussion of current and future radon initiatives in New Jersey.

The registration fee for Radon Specialists is $50.00. This includes continental breakfast, lunch, 8 NJ CEUs, and 4 ASHI CEUs.


Professionals (Non-Radon Certified)

UPDATE 10/20/16: The Professionals track has been changed. Professionals can now register for free and will attend the afternoon panel session only. For more information about this schedule change, please call 800-648-0394.

Non-Radon Certified Professionals will attend this event from 1:15pm - 4:00pm. Check-in begins at 1:00pm.

This includes real estate professionals, individuals working with weatherization and HUD requirements, public health professionals, and cancer coalition members.

Professionals will attend the Afternoon Panel, which will provide them with the opportunity to participate in a discussion of current and future radon initiatives in New Jersey.

There is no registration fee for Professionals. Participants will be awarded 3.0 NJ Public Health CEs.

Credits

With the cost of this program, attendees will receive the following CEUs:

Radon Technicians: 4 NJ CEUs and 4 ASHI CEUs

Radon Specialists: 8 NJ CEUs and 4 ASHI CEUs

ATTENTION HEALTH OFFICERS AND REGISTERED ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SPECIALISTS: Rutgers University, NJAES, Office of Continuing Professional Education has been approved by the New Jersey Department of Health as a provider of NJ Public Health Continuing Education Contact Hours (CEs). Participants who complete this education program will be awarded 3.0 NJ Public Health Continuing Education Contact Hours (CEs).

There are no refunds for this program. Substitutions are permitted.

Meals

Continental breakfast will be provided for all attendees. Specialists and professionals who remain for the afternoon panel will also be provided with lunch.
