You don’t need a consultant to investigate IAQ concerns at your school Teachers, school nurses, building and grounds staff, principals, and even superintendents have completed this free two-day training course, IAQ Tools for Schools, to gain the tools needed to implement practical indoor air action plans. Using your five senses and some simple tools, you’ll learn how to investigate IAQ concerns and identify common-sense solutions in this two day training course. You’ll know what questions to ask and where to look for the source of a problem. You’ll also leave with some practical, easy-tofollow checklists that you and members of your staff can use to evaluate your heating and ventilation systems, classrooms, cafeterias, hallways, entry paths and more. Finally, Tools for Schools process offers a proven process to resolve IAQ concerns cooperatively and constructively. Taking simple, open and collaborative steps has helped some districts resolve expensive labor and legal battles. Remember: the cost of prevention is far less than the cost of remediation – or a lawsuit.
Day 1 (April 23) Causes, effects and problem solving tools for IAQ, including the four P's of the indoor air environment: pollutants, people, pathways and pressure.
Day 2 (May 22): Gathering information; basic measurements to evaluate indoor air quality and concerns of walkthroughs and findings.
Hands-on exercises to investigate and assess environmental conditions.
