Offered Continuously Online

Description

Radon-resistant new construction is an integral part of the green building movement and these features can be an important selling point for health-conscious home-buyers. Using common materials and straightforward techniques, builders can easily construct new homes that are resistant to radon entry.

In this self-paced online course, gain a broad understanding of the construction methods that help reduce radon entry in new buildings. Learn how radon gas behaves and how different factors, such as geology, air flow, and construction techniques can alter its behavior. Completing this course will help you better understand:

  • relevant building codes;
  • design and construction techniques that can reduce indoor radon levels; and
  • installation techniques that allow mitigators to convert passive systems into active systems by installing a fan.

Because this is an online course, you will be free to work on this course anytime and anywhere you choose, so you can keep your business schedule on track while still sharpening your skills and completing all CE requirements. NOTE: This course requires internet access and an email address.

How Rutgers' Online Radon Courses Work

This is a self-paced online course hosted in Rutgers' Sakai learning management system.

When you sign up for a class hosted in Sakai, you will receive two auto-generated emails within a few minutes of completing your online registration. (Look for messages from notifications@sakai.rutgers.edu; check your spam folder if you do not see it in your inbox.) The first email will say that you have been added to the course and the second email will contain your username and password.

For all other registrations (mailed, faxed, emailed, by phone, etc.), you will receive these emails as soon as we process your registration.

NOTE: If you have previously taken any Rutgers Sakai course, you will only receive the initial welcome email when you register for this class. You will not receive a new username and password. You need to sign in with the same username and password you were assigned the first time you registered for a Sakai course. If you need to reset your password, click here.

If you need further assistance accessing the course, please contact our registration department at 848-932-9271, option 2 or registration@njaes.rutgers.edu.
