Offered Continously

Approved by multiple organizations, this home-study course allows you to earn the continuing education credits you need to maintain you certification without having to travel to a classroom.

This course will provide you with a broad understanding of the construction methods that help reduce radon entry and accumulation in new buildings. It will explain how radon gas behaves and how different factors, such as geology, air flow, and construction techniques can alter its behavior. Completing this course will help you better understand:

  1. relevant building codes;
  2. design and construction techniques that can reduce indoor radon levels; and
  3. installation techniques that allow mitigators to convert passive systems into active systems by installing a fan.

Because this is a home study, you will be free to work on this course anytime and anywhere you choose, so you can keep your business schedule on track while still sharpening your skills and completing all CE requirements.

If you have questions about this policy or would like to see what CE courses you have taken to date, please call Casey Sky Noon for more information at 848-932-7250 or send an email to radon@njaes.rutgers.edu.

How Rutgers' Home Study Radon Courses Work

After you register for a home study radon course, what happens next?

1. We will physically mail a booklet of information to your home. Within this booklet, you will find the core course material, self assessment quizzes, academic integrity form and the final home study exam. The best way to complete our home study program is to work your way through the content of the booklet, taking the self assessments at the end of each unit.

2. When you are confident that you have absorbed the material contained in the booklet:

  • fill out the academic integrity form and
  • complete the final exam

3. Submit the completed exam and academic integrity form to the Rutgers ERRTC Home Study Program via mail, fax or email (see address below).

4. Upon receipt, the Rutgers ERRTC staff will review the exam and mail you a certificate of completion. This certificate confirms that you have completed the proper study work required to earn continuing education credits.

* Please note that our home study courses are not offered online. *
