Our expert instructors will teach you the basics of working in MS Access including how to use fields, queries, and tables; how to work with toolbars; and how to use and search the help function.

In this half day class, you will learn new skills and practice them with hands-on instructor-led exercises. Computers will be provided. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Create and build a new database
  • Work with tables
    • Set up fields for tables
    • Change fields in already established tables
    • Add additional tables to a database
    • Print the contents of a table
    • Join tables
    • Save tables
  • Create auto forms and auto reports
  • Add, change, and delete data in a database
  • Design, save, and print a database
  • Calculate statistics
  • Create validation rules
  • Close a database

This course will also include a brief introduction to querying, which will include how to query a database (all fields), create a new query (select fields), use compound criteria in querying, sort data in a query, and save a query.

You will also learn time-saving tips and shortcuts to work more quickly and efficiently. Our expert instructor will set aside time to answer your specific questions.

Note: While Microsoft Office Access 2013 will be used for in-class demonstrations and hands-on practice, most of the skills taught in this class are also applicable to older versions of Access. Windows operating system is used for instruction in all Microsoft Office workshops.
