The Office of Continuing Professional Education at Rutgers University, in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), is offering an online 2021 SHRM certification preparation course!

Throughout the program, you will acquire the competencies and knowledge you'll need to effectively perform your job and achieve career success. The course is designed to help you learn and retain the material effectively and efficiently by combining the best exam preparation system with expert instruction and peer discussion.

Through expert instruction and peer discussion, you will learn key ideas and concepts, strengthen your understanding of core behavior and technical competencies, and increase your workplace productivity.

Meet Your Instructor

Headshot of Carolyn Broderick, SHRM InstructorCarolyn Broderick, MA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, HRIP has 30+ years of experience as a Human Resources Professional and industry experience in biotech, financial services, non-profit, and healthcare. Her HR experience includes Policy and Process, Benefits, Employee Relations, Affirmative Action, Diversity, HR Technology, and Workforce Analytics. Carolyn holds an MA degree from Monmouth University and has been SPHR certified since 2000. Her other qualifications include:

  • SHRM Certification Director, Garden State Council SHRM NJ
  • SHRM National Member and Past President, Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources
  • Past Member of SHRM National HR Technology and Management Expertise Panel
  • Current Member of SHRM National Diversity and Inclusion Expertise Panel

Course Materials

Your registration fee includes the 2021 SHRM Learning System, worth over $500.00. You will receive access to the online learning portal and hard copy materials.

Fees

Registration Fee $1,450.00  
Rutgers Employee/Student Discount Fee $1,400.00 Discount offered to Rutgers University employees and students only
Cancellation Fee $650.00  

Payment plans are available with $500 initial deposit. Must be paid in full by January 26, 2021. No cancellations allowed after January 26, 2021.

Note: The course registration fee does not include the fee for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exam or membership in SHRM.

Refund Policy

You may withdraw from this course in writing (via email to registration@njaes.rutgers.edu) up to fifteen (15) full business days before the class begins and receive a full refund, less a $650.00 processing fee. If the Office of Continuing Professional Education (OCPE) is not notified in writing at least fifteen (15) business days prior to the start of class, you may be responsible for the full fee. You may send another person to attend in your place with no penalty.

REFUNDS:

  • Credit Card Payments: a refund will be issued back to the same credit card.
  • Check, Cash, or Money Order Payments to Individuals: a refund will be issued by check to the individual who made the original payment. Please allow up to 8 weeks to receive your payment.

CREDITS:

  • In lieu of a refund, you may request a credit towards a future OCPE course. Credits expire 12 months after issue date.
Meals

No meals will be provided at this course.

Accessing this Online Course

This online course will be delivered via Webex. You will receive more information as we move closer to the date and on February 12, 2021, you will receive an email with a link to access the course. Books will be shipped to the address provided when you register and will be shipped approximately February 5, 2021.

Equipment you will need to access this training:

  • Laptop or desktop computers are required for this class
  • Speakers and microphone are not necessary but highly recommended as a call in option is available
