| Description |
Organic turf management refers to practices that rely heavily on improving soil health and function to produce a vigorously healthy sward of grass. In turn, a healthy turf has better tolerance of pests and environmental stresses. Taught by Rutgers Turfgrass Research Specialists, Dr. James Murphy and Brad Park, this course will cover the following key organic turf management concepts:
- Techniques to improve soil health and reduce fertilizer and irrigation needs
- Overseeding and re-sodding with improved stress tolerant turfgrasses
- Non-pesticide approaches to weed, insect, and disease management
- Critical organic turf management practices & realistic turf expectations
