Proper planting is far more than digging holes; it can literally determine life or
death for a tree. You first must match the plant with the conditions of your site
and then determine proper excavation depth and width. You also need to identify
girdling roots and the location of trunk fl ares - then use suitable backfill to
create good soil structure. You will learn how to take control of the process with
detailed specifi cations to assist in evaluating, preserving and remediating trees
on construction sites. Hands-on outdoor demonstrations will be provided if the
weather cooperates.
