Description

Customizing treatments for nutrient deficiencies is not just good plant heath care, it is also a valuable new service offered by conscientious arborists. Yet, the complexity of the issues and products can be intimidating. Which products are truly worthwhile and which are just sales hype? This class will provide answers on a wide range of issues, such as: water soluble versus WIN; Bio-stimulants; Mychorrizae or compost tea; trunk injection or implants; pH; micronutrients; and proper timing of applications. Cultural, biological and chemical control strategies and the Growing Degree Day (GDD) method of tracking pests and diseases will be outlined and detailed for effective use and marketing. Hands-on outdoor demonstrations will be provided (weather permitting).
