Description

This online class consists of two live lectures on January 25 and January 27, 2021. Each lecture is from 9:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

Controlling insects is a lot more complicated than just applying pesticide controls. To effectively manage insects, you must:

  • Identify the insect;
  • Understand its life cycle;
  • Distinguish between beneficial and harmful insects; and
  • Apply the right control at the right time.

Taught by Dr. Paula Shrewsbury, Extension Specialist, University of Maryland, this class covers all four of these topics with practical tips and quick identification clues.

Recommended Text: Managing Insects and Mites on Woody Plants: An IPM Approach. The cost for this text is $29.95 for Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) members and $44.95 for non-members. For ordering information, please contact the TCIA at 603-314-5380.
