Description

This two-part class will focus on ornamental plant and turf care. You may take Day One only to focus on the philosophy of IPM along with the fundamentals of monitoring, pesticide toxicity and abiotic, environmental, and cultural plant disorders. Or you can take the three-full days to learn more about:

  • Biotic disease diagnosis
  • Using growing degree days and plant phenology
  • Biological control with beneficial insects
  • Pest resistant ornamental plants
  • Insect/mite pest ID/life cycles
  • Biorational pesticides appropriate for an IPM program
  • Setting up and designing your IPM program

Day 1 is a a required course for the following certificate programs:
