Designing & Installing Retaining Walls Training

*Please join us for an additional day of hands-on training (April 19, 2017), and bring safety glasses if you have them. You will be asked to sign a basic waiver form. Note that the date for hands-on training was changed due to weather conditions.

Next offering tentatively planned for January 2018. Registration will open when course date is confirmed.


In this one-day class, you will learn the right way to design, plan, and install concrete paver projects. Working hands-on with pavers, you will learn about excavation, base and paver installation, cutting, edging installation, and estimating. You'll walk away with formulas and secrets for doing the job properly and safely. You'll also learn valuable business tips to ensure your hard work is appropriately rewarded and appreciated.

In order to provide you with even more useful knowledge, you'll have the opportunity to join us for a free additional day of hands-on training where you will participate in the actual installation of a paver patio on the Rutgers campus. This training day will be held on March 30, 2017.

Interested in earning a Landscape Certificate?
This is a a required course for the Rutgers Landscape Management II Certificate program.


The January 10, 2017 offering of this course was approved for the following credits. We will reapply for similar credits the next time the course runs, but we cannot guarantee credit approval for future offerings.

For the course day, continental breakfast and lunch will be provided to you at no additional cost. For the hands-on training day, donuts will be provided for breakfast and pizza will be provided for lunch.

NOTE: If you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies, please alert us at least one (1) week in advance of the course start date so that we can make reasonable accommodations. We cannot guarantee accommodations for special requests made after that time.


GPS systems may not recognize campus addresses. Even if they take you to the correct building, they will not take you to the assigned parking lot. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you use the directions we provide.
