This interactive one day recertification course will serve as a survey of Integrated Mosquito Management and how we can adjust to address the impacts of climate change and globalism on modern mosquito management. Emphasis will be placed upon larval habitat ecology, surveillance, and identification as cornerstones of effective mosquito control that conserves both human and environmental health. In addition to listening to presentations, students will engage in activities on basic mosquito identification, habitat identification, surveillance practices, and treatment decisions.

Topics will include:

  • Aerial spraying;
  • Trenching;
  • Insecticide resistance;
  • Habitat identification and surveillance;
  • Key mosquito pest species in NJ;
  • Control recommendations;
  • And more!
